Mu Saengchae - Radish side dish

Serves 3 - 4

A simple vegetable side the is fresh and crisp a pretty common in a normal rotation of homemade banchan. A great accompaniment to loads of dishes, the sweet and spicy dressing helps to make this addictive.

Recipe Tips:

1. Serve as a banchan to any meal or as a deopbap over hot rice and topped with a fried egg and sesame oil.
 

Ingredients

454-568g (1-1.25 lb) Korean radish, finely julienne

15g (1 T) ginger, minced

5 scallions, chopped

5 garlic, minced

3 T gochugaru

2.5 T fish sauce

1 T rice vinegar

2 t maesil

2 t sugar

0.50 t kosher salt

0.25 t ground white pepper

Recipe Know-how

1.      Place all ingredients into a large mixing bowl.

  • Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

  • Refrigerate at least 30 minutes.

2.      Serve drizzling with a little sesame oil and topping with sesame seeds.
